Mogwai mayhem

Mogwai's - so cute, so adorable, so loveable....until you dont follow the golden rules (anyone remember those??.....no bright lights, getting them wet, no food after midnight). Break these rules....and your lil mogwai's turn into GREMLINS!

Well, I think the same rules apply to children...although the golden rules differ somewhat!! Not too much junkfood, not too many late nights, dont lock them up for too long (referring to being housebound due to the heatwave, not literally locked up, although, after my day, that option is looking pretty enticing, LOL)!

Clearly the universe decided that 3 out of my 4 mogwai's would turn into gremlins for a day!
A mother is supposed to remain cool, calm and collected right???? Yeah, whatever......how do such young lil beings reduce a mum into a blubbering screaming maniac!!

Yes, I am being a bit over dramatic here.....but seriously, it was a hard day. I consider myself a pretty calm mum, with relatively good kids, but today was a different story!!

Not too sure what was the final straw for me to start sobbing, was it the 5 year old kicking the 2 year old so hard that he fell and cut his lip open?, was it the 2 year old constantly sooking "MUM MUM MUM MUM MUM" all day (hello Jordan...Daddy is home too....would it hurt to sook 'DAD DAD DAD' for a change??), or maybe the final straw was the 10 month old who refused to sleep and SCREAM all day long?, ....hmmmm, who knows!!

Hubby was a great help....he decided to take himself to bed before 8pm stating "I am going to bed, I cant deal with this anymore".....yep, must be real hard watching all the kids flock to their mum screaming, whilst he sat back on the couch with a beer (Sorry Mike, you are a great dad...but maybe you were borderline Gremlin that day too)!!

Maybe the kids sensed that mummy had lots to do!!! I had to clear out a whole toy room, ready to start painting for Maddison's new bedroom.....so, here I am, sitting in chaos (tell me, why didnt I just start one tub at a time, rather than tipping it all out at once???), in the middle of 5000 crappy McDonald toys and other broken junk with a baby screaming, a 2 year old chanting his mother's name over and over and OVER again, and a 5 year old just being a royal pain in the clacker (yay for the 7 year old who decided that he would behave)!

But us mums are made for a good challenge (after we have a good vent first). I got there...rumpus room is cleared, kids finally all crashed, I had a very important meeting with a good friend 'Bella' over a nice Thai Coconut stirfry , and I was ready for a new day!

Motherhood....a never ending demanding job, but well worth every bad day (someone please remind me of this next time I have gremlins running amuck in my generally peaceful home!!).

OH, and FYI....the next day was wonderful....my Mogwai's came back to me!!!
